A few weeks ago we camped for four days with the family near Wickiup Reservoir in Central Oregon. There is great brown trout fishing in the area lakes as well as the Deschutes River. We took our father in law out for about four hours one evening to see if we could get some brown trout for breakfast. Brown trout and eggs are killer while camping! We started off with a few smaller browns and then I hooked into a very nice brown in the upper teens.



Next up our father in law hooked up with his first brown trout ever and what a fish it was.



Daniel then got to play with the biggest fish of the evening with this monster brown!



We normally would have let the larger brown trout go because they are so beautiful but my pregnant wife really wanted brown trout and you don't make the pregnant girl mad.



Another great trip to Central Oregon camping and fishing. Hopefully we can get back up there again for a real fishing trip where we can actually put in some hours on the water. We ended up going 6 for 8 and had a great breakfast in the morning.

It's been some time since I chased brown trout Chad. Those are some dandies. I've got to get back to that.
