Well went down for an hour and a half. Just to see if the trout were hitting the service... It was freezing!!! Got something to smack a spinner and heard of one trout being caught... Going back tomorrow

Not sure what that means!! Maybe "surface". LOL

Try the jigs under a float Greg, I'm telling you it will help your steelhead float fishing too. You can see what its like when one takes your bait and how the float reacts to different fish takes!! Plus it will just give you confidence knowing a fish will hit a jig under a float!!

I ment surface lol.

I tried em for a lil bit yesterday chad... float went all lobsided so I ripped back and nothin. lol So i'll try it again today. Maybe with a lil garden hackle on it... I was using a 10lb leader so I thought that was a lil thick so I switched out to a 6lb for today

Gonna try some crawlers, jigs, spoons, spinners, spinnerbaits, and pw.

Report and hopefully some video to follow!

Just a couple bites... Powerbait seemed to be the bait today... A couple kids I knew keep getting bites on it... Off the bottom

Today was ABSOLUTELY the coldest I've ever gone fishing... WOW!

But yea.. Good news... Got a couple trout.. One on this, tipped with a crawler and no float or weight.

And another on a plain worm.. no float or weight.

That's cool Greg, were you fishing it off the bottom or just casting and reeling it in?

Jiggin it off the bridge actually... We were attracting them closer with spinnerbaits then dropping worms and jigs down.

Greg, why are you goofing around with dinker trout in a pond when there's big Chrome winter steelhead swimming by your house ?? Just curious. You should be out on the river fine tuning your float and jig presentation.
There's fish in there, go get em. :D :D

Cause I hate fishing alone at the river... And none of my friends fish.

Plus... I aint fishing a jig on a river til I go out with someone who does it on a regular basis... So it'll be awhile.

Come on now Greg, you live in a CHROME rich environment, like Barry said, in your back yard. The steel are in there. Go and practice and have confidence. You will catch a fish on a jig, you just have to get out and do it. You already know what to do. I know you would rather tie into some angry hard pulling steelhead than dingle dangle for trout from a bridge ;) ;) ;)
You can catch trout and half pounders in the Rogue on the jigs in your pursuit of the heavy chrome rocket :D :D
Come on Buddy.......make us proud ;)

Try playing around with some all white jigs. . . I've seen picky trout ignore everything else, but then go after white jigs. I like the 1/32 oz, get some 8-10lb braid, 6lb flouro leader, and 7ft+ light fast action rod, and you will be able to cast the little jig out 40ft accurately.
