Chad and I put in a full day yesterday fishing the Umpqua tide water. We started at 6am and didn't get of the water until almost 8:30pm. Five minutes into our first pass Chad hooked up with this nice little jack.
A couple hours later it was my turn. This nice 35"x22" hen couldn't resist the spinner that we trolled through her living room. Lots of eggs and great meat for the smoker.
We had 2 other hit and runs, but it got pretty windy on the incoming tide and with our little 12ft boat we were limited as to where we could fish, but it was still a fun day on the water.

Well done guys.
I'm hearing it's been really crowded. It will be crazy this weekend with the derby. I'm off to Bandon for a week. Hopefully everyone is on the Umpqua.

Re: Umpqua tide water
We hit the Umpqua again today. 200 yards into our first pass, rod burries, fish on. A nice battle ensues and my father in law Brad is rewarded with his largest fish ever, a beautiful 35" chrome hen, probably 25lb's or so. We tagged the fish, ran back up river a little ways and re-deployed the rods, 20 yards past the place we first hooked up, bam fish on again. This time it was Chad's turn, and he made short work of a nice 28" buck. So, two fish in the first 15 min and the rest of the day... Nothing. Not sure how that works, but you have to take the good with the bad, and we were happy to be going home with two beautiful fish. We fished from 6 ish until 4:30. Chad has some pics, hopefully he will post some soon:)
