Man that fish on the Chetco would haunt your sleep for a LOOOONG time!! I know you and when you say he was a TOAD....I could only imagine with all the big fish you have caught. When that happens, I hate not being able even to get a glimpse of the beast before the hook unfortunately pulls out. That is what keeps us keeping after em!!

Sorry ya lost the toad
I've heard it has been like the sand spit in Gold Beach on the Elk and Sixes
bring your own water to fish kinda thing
Every time Reeltech hooks a fish i laugh... the worried look on his face, the sweating, knees shaking,.... i think once he peed himself...
... its a good thing he brings fish in fast or he might pass out from holding his breath in anticipation

yeah, it was crowded. 70 boats on the elk and 40 on the sixes. we had a great plan of attack though. saturday morning we didn't start until 8:30. we put in at the rv park. i rowed up to the first hole, got out and pulled it up river about a half mile. the first hole was loaded wtih fish. lots of bites, line rubs and landed one.then they were gone. the fish were on the move all day. every bite we got was a slack line bite.i think that's why are landing ratio was down(that's my story and i'm sticking to it). we fished the sixes from the 101 to the beach. it has some of the most incredible steelhead water i've ever seen. it was a great trip

And yes, I get all excited when someone hangs a fish and is fighting it too!! Doesnt matter whats on the other end. Jon and Dan are right about all of it!!
LOVE IT!! Oh yeah, there was also that time when I saw that steelie I hooked and said "thats the kind of fish that haunts my sleep"
My excitement gets the best of me but thats the way I like it!!
. Like Dan said, when that excitement goes away, time to take up another hobby
I think if I get to that point after seeing the fish, its a sign we are gonna wish we had a bigger boat......and a bigger net!!

Even if its trout up at diamond lake.
Bring on the chromers!
