Took my Dad and my Bro-in-law Stephen out for a 1/2 day drift from VOR to RR. Got out early and pulled plugs hard and drifted lots of garden hackle through the likely spots. No takers on either besides lots of trout, including some Cutty's. Did not see one salmon roll anywhere along the way today.
Once we got down to the wide section on the home stretch, gave them both spinners to toss at the banks. They caught a few trout and then Stephen got slammed by something with a little more weight to it Turned out to be a nice bright summer steelie. Carefully removed from the net, a photo snapped, and on the way she went;).
There is a fish in the river right now ready to boost your confidence in jig fishing....go out there and get em
