-Siletz River Winter Steelhead- (They Love Yarnies)

Postby hollywood on Fri Feb 10, 2012 5:57 pm

We had a great day on the water fishing the Grant (GW) last Saturday. The best part of the day was the lack of boats. I think there were only like 6 other boats on the river. :-BD

First fish of the day was this big boy! 33 inches long and a great battle.

He took hot pink/white unscented SS UV yarn ball.

Next pass I miss another fish and Grant hooks up with a nice steelhead on eggs. It came off unfortunately. Here is Grants second fish.

Me playing with my new favorite side drifting rod. A 7'4', high modulus, slow action, 4-8 lb steelhead whoopin machine. :D Its sweet and has no trouble landing big fish.

And a nice little native. Came on a steelhead orange/cerise SS yarnie.

Daniel was pretty quiet the fist half of the day until he switched over to a steelhead orange/cerise yarnie and then he went on a 3 fish tear!

Hot color of the day! Steelhead orange/cerise. \M/

My favorite pic of the day. The waterfall and light shinning through along with the fish jumping is pretty cool!
