-Saltwater Coho Spectacular (7-12-09)-

Postby hollywood on Sun Jul 12, 2009 6:09 pm

We had a chance to go out in the salt for coho for the first time today and had a blast. Man what a fun way to fish for coho and was it chaotic at times!! Its one of those days were the guys you are with say its never like this, with the nice weather, no wind, hardly and waves and fish biting its more than we could ask for. Well, Daniel could of asked to not get sick once we left the bay but he did end up reeling in the biggest fish, just in time to feed the fishes some more. We had two doubles and a triple, during the triple I didn't know what was going on there were rods and fish everywhere. We ended up going through all of our bait and had to quit after going through 36 baits with 36 bites, hookups or fish in the boat. We actually hooked and landed 25 and only five were keepers so the rest were just for fun :) We were done fishing by 1:00pm, now I just need a big boat to do this more often. The guy checking fish said this one was the biggest he had seen all year up to this point!

What a fun day, even though I was souley responsible for the chum line, I took my job seriously and I think the results speak for themselves  Well, maybe I'll feel a little better next time, but it was still a blast. I ate some of it last night and man is that some good eating :D Next time were taking our own rods
