We had an epic day on the water fishing for Chinook and Coho in tidewater! Unfortunately our friend Riverwolf missed the red hot fishing by one week, we thought it might not even come this year but it has. We landed 18 Salmon with 17 of those being Coho and one monster Chinook. Here are a few pictures of the day to hold you over until we finish up the video.

We never did weigh this Chinook but it was 35+ lbs for sure!

They were jumping everywhere and even more importantly biting.







All of our fish landed today came on chartreuse and red/white spinners. I will remember this day for a long time. The Chinook was even being chased by a seal and the reel was trying to come apart but we got it in and it was a SLAB. Until next time. Good luck out there.

Man I wish I could get in on some of that! Nice work fellas. Does anyone know if and where there are any opportunities to to hook up with some fall salmon from the bank on Siuslaw? I see that above the Lake Cr and including Lake Cr is closed this year.

There is some good bank access below where lake creek dumps in. The first little boat launch when you are headed up river (siuslaw) above Mapleton, has a nice hole to throw a spinner or float a shrimp cocktail. It is just a gravel launch, so if you blink you will miss it. Another good spot is where you cross the railroad tracks. Just park beside the tracks and walk up river a little ways. It is a long deep hole with riffles at the head. There are usually salmon in both of these spots, it is just getting them to bite that can be a problem.
