Most popular rod length

Postby staffman on Sat Dec 17, 2011 6:15 pm

I would like to know the most popular length for float rods on the West coast. A second question for the west coast pinners, do you prefer a bushing or a bearing reel.

Most west coast float rods, spinning any way, are 9 1/2" to 10 1/2". There are not very many pinners out hear.

Don't know about pinning but I know for me personally the 10 1/2" is the perfect length for my rivers up here in WA.
Give you much better line control and mending.
