Middle and Upper River

Postby THE REEL TECH on Tue Aug 12, 2008 8:10 pm

The summer Steelheading in the Rogue is getting better as more fish move in. We got this nice hatchery fish down in Gold Hill on 7-27-08. :D

8-6-08 in the upper river, we got this nice cutty that was released, ate plug. This hatchery buck went ballistic after he flattened the plug rod....yummy BBQ!! :D

Yesterday evening, 8-11-08, floated with another buddy of mine and had the pleasure of rowing him into this feisty nate hen on the upper that could not resist the plug :D Fish went airborne several times. Quickly released after photo. Dont know why this photo would not center????

Archer,
Yes, those craw daddy's work well. My Buddy in the photo LOVES pulling them in the summer and does very well. I have others that I run with great success as well. Put in in their face and they will crush it :D

It sounds pretty fun to have a steelhead hit a plug, I've never done that, only bobber downs, and a few on spoons, and corkies.
