Postby greg on Mon Sep 01, 2008 12:38 pm

Well I have practically been going out like every other day.. Went out yesterday, hooked and lost one... This morning wasnt doing so swell.. Kept getting snagged... So my dad told me to go down to this point... Third cast got this. I was a tad bit tired and the sun was in my face. :o... I forgot how hard those things faught! I hooked another but lost it within 20 seconds.

Good job Greg!! Using corkies? You should try a float with a big gob of roe on the end!

The Applegate? We will start hitting it up in February. I will be moving back to Eugene in November just in time for December 1st winter steelhead opener on some of the coastal rivers in the area!! Man I can't wait, and the applegate will be a big part of the steelheading for us in March, its hard to beat during this time.

One a side note, the next time me or Daniel catch a nice Salmon or Steelhead Hen we will be making a video on how to cure your own roe going in depth on handling the roe from removing them from the fish all the way to freezing the eggs. There are a lot of mistakes that people make when curing roe and this video will be very helpfull in making good quality roe that will catch fish when no one else is.

Thats a good area, I got a nice native buck there the second of January. I guess you really can catch fish that early on the AG.
