We went down and fished the Umpqua and what a great day it was to be on the water. It must of hit 75 degrees while we were on the water and there were a few fish moving through too!

This fish was taken using a custom built spinner from Mike at Oregon Rod Reel and Tackle. He has kind of a cool setup at his shop where you can pick out any blade color/size, beads and hook and he will build it up for you there on the spot. He knows what colors have been working and I just let him build up whats been hot. We got this fish on a red/brass blade with red beads. This is a great way to target Springers on the Umpqua. People were also hooking up using Rogue river rigs (anchovy rig and blade).

What a great fight, this fish was so fresh its scales were falling off. We were just up from tidewater and these fish are HOT! It was nice to get back out on the water and we will be doing it again very soon. The Umpqua is getting a great run of Springers and these fish get big. There was a 54 lb Chinook caught a few days before we fished and the night before the guy next to us caught at 35 lb Springer!

Been working the Lower Rogue as I always do and I can't say its worth the trip. There has been some good days but It looks like were on the end of the run.
