Sorry. that link didn't work.

Summer steelhead set one-day record at Bonneville
by Bill Monroe, special to The Oregonian
Thursday August 13, 2009, 10:57 AM
The summer steelhead count Tuesday at Bonneville Dam was 18,671, a one-day record since counts began in 1938.
Joe Hymer, spokesman for the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, said the previous record was 14,432 fish on Aug. 3, 2001.

(Yes, many of those fish heading for Idaho and eastern Oregon and Washington are blocked by hot temperatures spilling from the interior and head instead upriver into the Deschutes to cool off for a while.)
