-Crapy Steelhead Fishing!-

Postby hollywood on Thu Jan 21, 2010 9:02 pm

Well we fished yesterday and had a rough day on the water! We fished a solid 9 hours pretty much straight without a bite. At the very end of the day right before we were leaving I made one more cast to a good spot and my float twitched and went under. FISH ON!! :YMPRAY: We were talking the other day, why is your first thought always something other than you have a fish on? I was thinking "probably just hit that big boulder the fish sit in front of", then my line is going to the left and I am still think why is it doing that. Must have been the long day! :D This fish came on the Chartreuse Vibra Jig in a very pressured hole so that was the only bright spot of the day. We are going to fish a different river tomorrow in search of larger numbers of fish and hopefully some great footage for you guys! :-BD

See Jon I can catch a steelhead occasionally! :))

Here is a short clip of the fish. You can tell I did not care to fight the fish after such a long day. Glad it wrapped its self up so I could not fight.

Yea, he was cheating though. I'm sure of it. I had my back turned and all of the sudden he's yelling fish on. Something fishy about the whole situation :-?

Good call. Tomorrow will be PERFECT jig water and I would fish them a lot! White, pink, chartreuse, olive are good early colors. Then I would switch to black, purple or pink, olive in the afternoon. Good luck. :-BD
