We went out and fished the Coquille River with Mike Fairchild's of Northwest Guide Service for the first time yesterday and had a blast. We started the morning off with a nice chrome bright steelhead on my line and I proceeded to play like an amateur and not check my drag (our Guides rod or reel) and had the hook pull out on a hard, long run. It was a little tighter than I like to run my drag, thats my excuse and I'm sticking to it.

We ended up hooking two more steelhead and Daniel got a beautiful bright hatchery hen just before the river turned to mud!! Its to bad too because we were starting to find some fish. There must have been a mud slide up river from us because it went from starting to turn green to brown with crap all over the water in two seconds.

Always fun fishing a new river and we did hook fish when most of the reports were poor fishing so that was encouraging. Looking forward to going back soon!
