I was invited to go out fishing with Lee Freeman from Triple S Guide Service and Rob Brown from R&B lure company to fish the Columbia River for summer steelhead!! We had a great day on the water with twelve steelhead hooked and six landed, out of those six two were hatchery fish. We fished using R&B spinners on two rods and on the middle rod had coon shrimp with and R&B blade just above. Talk about effective spinners we only saw one other fish netted with about five other boats in the same area!









What a fun day on the water with two great guys! We also hooked two sturgeon, one of them came while fighting a steelhead. I will have a sweet video of the day done in a day or so. Talk about violent take downs on the rods, we got one on camera that you have to see, its crazy!

Rob from R&B makes some amazing spinners and they are a great price, you can check out his website with the logo at the top of the forum. He made me up a nice blue and silver spinner to try up on the McKenzie because we have been doing pretty well with that color. Long story short the first cast I made as I am bring it down the hole I see a dark object behind my spinner and then a bump, I pull up and FISH ON, it must have followed it for five feet before slamming it. Unfortunately the perfect first cast didn't end well and the fish shook the hook free, but none the less the spinner worked perfect and got me a bite with very few fish in the hole.
