-Alsea River Steelhead Fishing-

Postby hollywood on Wed Dec 29, 2010 4:08 pm

Well I was given the green light to got fish for a few hours on Christmas Eve and took it. I had not fished in forever and needed to get out. Water looked good and I only fish a few spots being short on time. I had one steelhead on for just long enough to feel two big head shakes and that was that. The guy fishing the slot above me caught a nice little hen on my favorite jig! :ymdevil: The Hybrid Micro (Black and Purple). \M/

Nice to be on the water. Now if it would only stop raining so we can fish some more before the winter is over. :D

Very nice! :-BD Was there Friday Chad and that side had 6 guys at 5:00am, so I went across and with the flow, it was fishing well. By the way
all 6 guys must have had the same Christmas gift of a 10 LED head lamp and for 45 min they talked with each other and when they looked
over the water at me I was able to tie up a second rig without my 1LED lamp turned on! Not sure if that had an effect on the fishing but
I had the only takedown (swing and a miss) and by the time i left there were 8 fishing and not one fish in 4@1/2 hrs :-s It was the cracker crowd
( that includes me too :D ) with it being the last day on the 2010 tag. Happy New Year :ymparty: :ymparty:

We hit the river Saturday, with not much to show for it either. We fished with Eric(twitch) who works at the hatchery, he landed two, one when we were with him, and I hooked one that didn't move when I set the hook and snapped my line with a couple massive head shakes :ymsick: and that was it for the day.
