-Alsea River Report (2-23-2008)-

Postby hollywood on Sat Feb 23, 2008 1:39 am

 Daniel is fishing the Alsea River today and I will have a report up on how he does. It has been low and clear now for over a week so it will be a tough day of fishing but if there are any fish around he will find them. I will update this post later today with an update from the river.

I just got a call from Daniel and he hooked and landed one fish today and had one other take down. He fished for about four hours this morning. The fish he landed is around 34, 35in and is estimated at around 14 or 15lbs. What a day, I wish I was there! I will post pictues of it in the fishing reports section of the website.

Well, Chad and I made our first trip to the Alsea this year, even though we new it would be way to low and clear to offer much of a chance at a steelhead, or so we thought. We walked up to one of the better holes on the river just in time to see a guy landing a nice 27in hen :o so that got us motivated to do some fishing, Chad caught a nice coho on one of his purple micro jigs, he might be onto something as that is the second coho he's caught on them :?: I really couldn't believe it when he said fish on, and it was a coho, has anyone else got into coho on jigs?
