Me and Daniel will be going up to Wickiup Reservoir the first of May to try for some monster brown trout!! We will be trolling the Deschutes arm of Wickiup and it should be a fun weekend. If we get some good video footage of catching browns we might make a video episode from it. This will be the first time we stick with trolling for an entire weekend but this is how the BIG browns are caught so were going to keep with it until we get some. We will have a report and pictures up soon as we get back.

Good luck out there Chad!! We need to hook up some time. I would be happy to share some Big Hammer Swimbaits with you that are absolutely deadly on the trout........especially BIG ONES. I have them in 3", 4", 5", 6", and 7" in all kinds of colors, along with some really cool paited heads with eyes in them. I even have them in a few different shades of rainbow trout color......candy for big browns!!!
Check out the website at www.swimbait.com. I have caught just about everything that swims on these things. They are without a doubt the next best thing to live bait. Ive been fishing them for years and I am on their Pro-Staff. They are very popular down in CA where I spent some time living. Doesnt seem that anyone up here has even heard of them.

Yeah, I wouldnt mind trying something different. We normally fish the deschutes above bend and use BIG jerkbaits for the browns. Im sure a swimbait like those would work well for sure. We will be going back up to fish the D the first of June, and normally hook between 15 and 25 browns between the two of us in a day. It would be fun to try some swimbaits as well to see if we could get some even bigger fish in the boat.
