A Lil Trout Fishing

Postby greg on Tue Mar 01, 2011 11:31 pm

Since we can't find any fish.... me and fish_on decided to hit up a local pond. Patrick was getting em on spoons and I got three on a rooster tail. And one on a Crawler. Should start getting better!

Nice! Sounds fun! I know exactly what you mean by a void in the fishing. That's pretty much the same thing that I've been doing since the steelie action has been so slow. Just feels nice to actually feel something on the end of the rod! What color roosters you been using? I've been using anywhere from size 1 to 3 ( I prefer 2) blue fox spinners and been killing em.

I think it was the 2nd smallest size in black body and black tail with a gold blade. Today we messed around with some sickle hooks on spoons since we kept pinning the fish's mouth shut with trebles.... helped a lot better and my hook up % went up. Other than that we've been using the old stand bys, nightcrawlers under a float and powerbait on bottom. We're hoping to take our pontoons out to lake selmac this weekend.
