-Getting Packed for Diamond Lake!!-

Postby hollywood on Fri Jun 20, 2008 12:10 am

I'm getting the car packed up for the weekend at Diamond Lake. I'm excited and it should be a good weekend of fishing. We are fishing the derby and with any luck we might catch a money fish (with a lot of luck). Good luck to everyone this weekend who is up there.

Well we didnt do as well as we could have. We caught 25 to 30 trout from 14 to just over 16 inches! For most places this would be a great day of fishing with large trout and it was but we unfortunatly didnt hook into any of the larger fish. The biggest fish that we caught was a little over 16 inches and weighed just over 2 lbs!! What fat fish. We missed the money by a few ounces but had a lot of fun fishing. We were kind of dissapointed when we found out that most of the bigger fish (20 inches +) were caught right around the lodge. We spent all of our time on the south end and trolled the east end where most of the bigger hold over fish are. The biggest fish went 22 inches and weighed just over 4 lbs. It was a great weekend of fishing for FAT hard fishing rainbows. I would say the average fish is 15 inches so this lake is just goin to get better and better.
