We had pretty good luck trolling spoons way behind the boat. You can also fish micro jigs under a float at the different arms of Crane Prairie. They need to either kill off all of the fish and start over like diamond lake did or try to kill off the bass. Either way, Crane wont be what it was until they do something about the invasive species!! Good luck this year, we will be fishing Wickiup and Crane this year sometime as well.

i used to have the best luck there with worm flavored powerbait(brown) but that just doesnt work anymore.this guy i talked to at the boat launch last year caught a couple biggens' on a 3 inch flatfish...but i agree, they need to do something about the bass.
Thanks for the tips!!

Wow, no love for the bass at all?????.......come on guys.......any aggressive willing fish is fun to catch ;) ;)
I do agree that they sure can eat alot though, probably a good swimbait lake for the bass ;)
Its funny how salmon/trout/steelhead guys hate bass, and most bass fisherman feel the same the other way. I just like catching fish, no matter what they are ;) ;)
Good luck out there, hope you catch some big ones, whatever they are ;) ;)

Dont get me wrong,i like bass fishing too!!...they just ruined the trout fishing in that lake!!
Last summer i was actually fishing for bass at crane because we were having no luck with the trout. About 100 yards to the west of rocky point, casting a charteruse spinner bait towards the bank,i would say about in two feet of water...i hooked into a 3 pound rainbow!! it blew me away.He must have been up there feeding or something. That's the only good sized trout i have caught out of there in years,i didnt even mean too.

Nothing wrong with being a pond maggot. I guess real fisherman have to do something with their time when the rivers are blown out, yard is done, honey do's are done, boats clean and you can't find anything else to do.....ya bass are alright...  just yankin yer line hehe :P :P
