i want to fish the applegate river but im not sure what to do.

i dont know what to use or even where to go. any advice would be greatly appreciated

I don't know how familiar you are with that area, but you could fish below the reservoir. There are some nice holes there that I am sure hold trout. I would throw a small spinner or spoon. Make sure you check the regs for the river as it is closed to fishing a few months out of the year.

are there some decent sized trout in the applegate? lol ive only been able to hook these little 6 inch trout.

I've never fished it for trout, so I really don't know. You are probably catching steelhead smolts. I'm sure the river is full of them this time of year.

Probably best to leave it alone and not kill the smolts IMHO
