Well, they are stocking a bunch of legals there this month. A total of 3500 this month. As much as I don't like going there I'm going to have to go get a few limits while I'm giving the steelhead a rest :)

Planters are fun when there is a lull in the big fish action.

Well last three times I went out there I limited out pretty quick while everyone else around.me was getting skunk so I guess I'm doing something right. Yesterday actually saw a steelhead caught in there. BUT I found out that he didn't have a salmon/steelhead tag and they were insisting that you don't need to tag steelhead there, which is totally untrue, you have to tag steelhead there., which was disappointing but oh well. He's lucky he didn't get caught cause I've been checked by officers everyday and of course that's the one day they don't show up to check licenses/ tags.

What's your secret technique that is slaying the planters?

Yep just limited out again today in half an hour while I did not see anybody else catching fish while I was there. Don't want to give away all my secrets. Let's just say that I'm not using bobbers, and almost everybody there just plunks power bait or some kind of bait... and I do not do that either..... ;)

Well it was my day off from work and the snow ruined my chances of going out to try forr winter steel so I figured to go to alton again. Some pretty decent sized ones in there this time. But it did take me a little while get a good limit. Threw around 10 smaller sized ones back and only kept the bigger ones so it took about 2 hours this time.
