SW Washington fishing.

Hey guys,

Do you ever go down to Lewis River? I live in Washington and mainly fish the SW rivers. I have been down there several times. Only caught one Coho. My first salmon, boy it was fun. I have been going down there for the last couple of weeks, (drift fishing) but can’t pull anything out. I have been using some corkies, I had several hits, but no takers.
Steelheads are starting to flow into the river and I'm hoping I can catch one. I have been seeing that most people use drift bobber setup. By what I have been reading, is that the jig or bait (whatever the choice of food) needs to basically bounce off the bottom. I have seen your setup on the site; I will give that a shot this up coming weekend. Any tips on steelhead fishing?

If you are fishing floats you want your bait/lure about a foot or two off the bottom. Thats the key to float fishing, adjusting your depth until you find the fish. Good luck.
