Wow!! Tied up a bunch of rattlin' uv jigs and slammed them on Lake Creek today. 3 hookups for me. Zero to the bank. Very fiesty fish. I gave my noodle rod and good reel to a beginner and he hooked two, landed a bright 12 lb buck. Very good morning on the river. I was using a backup rod and reel and the drag was unreliable on the reel. Good lesson. I know better. Going to town tomorrow to buy a new Shimano.
I used 1/0 jig hooks by the way. Owners and Mizukas (I think thats the way they are spelled.) Very sharp and very strong. I'm really high on the new UV materials. They are very buggy. Apparently the steelhead are also. Tight lines, Mike
ps any color seemed to work well as long as it was black!! (or black and purple). Dark day, dark fly, bright day bright fly.

Re: vibra jigs and Lake Ck.
Glad to hear the rattling jigs are working for you.
! am a bit jealous!! I fished hard yesterday on the alsea and came home empty handed. That does not happen much this time of year and the water was perfect.
Nice to hear the UV is working for you, there are some very good float fisherman up in Washington fishing with some as we speak and hopefully I hear good things!!
Good job out there!

Great report, I'm sure you will have a much better landing % on your next outing. It's not very often you loose that many on jigs.
