Im interested in fishing the upper siuslaw for winter run this year, including lake creek. Never fished it before. Curious on what everyone thought about that area and what works good. Talked to a couple guys that pull plugs off the bank but other than that....

Floats and jigs/bait/lure works great on lake creek. The siuslaw has some good float water but most of it is best suited for drift fishing. Lots of yarn ball fisherman there!

What time of year does it start getting fishable?

Any time now. There should be some fish in there.
