Most of all I guess what rings the fall bell for me are the Oncorhynchus tshawytscha , king salmon making their final journey up the river again. As a boy I would wade out into water one or two feet deep to watch the kings build their redds . Life being laid down for all of us to welcome again in a few years. I still think of those days often.
It rained a few days ago and the temperature dropped into the thirties over night. The peony blossoms have long fallen and I see a faint hint of yellow starting to appear on the Maple leaves. My oldest grandson speaks of nothing else but football . Unofficially, most believe summer season ends on labor day . I believe the calendar states the last day of summer is September twenty first.
I didn't think last winter would ever end as it was well into June before I felt the warm days of summer had arrived. Now those warm days are waning .. Cloudy skies prevail now and the wind seems to have a faint chill to it. I love the sunsets in the fall as God delivers yet another picture to take. I find these days it's important to remember days past, as there are more of them than days ahead.
Yes indeed, I believe fall has arrived early this year.........H
