Spinners and Fireline Tracer

Postby labordav on Tue Jun 02, 2009 7:42 pm

Quick question folks,

Headed out for some early morning Chinook then Steelhead tomorrow.

I was just tying a brass spinner onto my fireline tracer braid with a palomar knott (Thanks Chad).

Then I though maybe the tracer braid would be too high vis for the fish. Should I tie a three foot leader with mono or just go for it with the tracer? Thoughts?

I would tie a three or four foot leader of mono or flouro. You can use a swivel to attach the leader to the braid. Good luck out there!

I run 20lb tuffline on just about all my rigs, and I always run a 'perleader' just long enough that it doesnt spool in my real when i go to cast, I use a double Uni-Knot to connect the braid and my florocarbon, 7 wraps on the braid and 5 on the floro. The knot runs throught my guides great, I dont have any loss in my casts. Seems to work great for me!
