Am getting a new low profile baitcasting reel in near future. Am starting to look at rods. Anyone have any experience/comments on the Okuma SST series of rods? From what little I've seen, they look like a good rod for the price.

I've had the drift rod's (9'6" 6-12) break under very little tension, but I am very happy with the 8' 15-50 for back bouncing.

I have a casting 8.5' sst and I really like it a lot. Especially for the price. For only about $20 bucks more you can get the steelhead guide select models though too and they are basically the same rod but with a lifetime warranty instead of a one year. But either way I would reccomend them both

Hey Nitroman,
I have the 7'6" in a Kokanee spin rod and the wife loves it. I just got 3 of the sst 9'6" side drifting rods to try out. A local store had then on sale for $29.00 and I could not pass them up. So I got all they had. I have not used them so I do not know how they will work.
