-New Strongest Knot in the World!-

Postby hollywood on Thu Mar 04, 2010 10:39 pm

Looks like the super strong fish-n-fool knot was beat out this year in knot wars. You can see the episode below! :D

Looks like we have a new knot video to make. :-BD

Should be fun testing out a new knot.

Well... I gotta say that one of the stronger knots I've seen!!! Kinda tough to tie the first time since I'm use to the Palomar and Uni, BUT I'm definitely going to try it!!!

Well now boys I just have to step in here now and say foooooooo-eeeeeeeeeeeee. :-o Us old dogs have a memory issue and these knots really give me fits. :p Being around for a great many years I look for simplicity. Yep, that's it simplicity and nothing else. Let me see was that 6 wraps or 8? :-o :-o :ass:

I'll bet my skill and my rod any day of the week against my knot weaknesses. :YMPRAY: You young boys who "horse em" in should probably use these , " was that 8 wraps" knot. :p :-o

Sorry Chat I just couldn't help myself.........................................H :)

I used the improved clinch for many years, but when I tried the fish-n-fool knot I was blown away at how much stronger it was. I know you guys like your old knots, but these new ones really do make a huge difference. Besides, Walmart has polarized glasses with a 3x magnification bifocal in them for those who might have trouble seeing the line :-B :ass:

i've landed 30# salmon with my rogue ss904's with 6# test tied with a improved clich knot. i can do it all day long. knot wars is fun to watch, but there is no way you could that much pressure on a fish with the rods we are using for steelhead. plus on knot wars they are using 15# test and pulling so slow they are pulling the knots free and not breaking.like that's going to happen in real time. just my opinion. i grew up using 2# test using the clinch knot grandpa showed me. if it don't break why fix it.

Does that #6 test happen to be maxima ug or p-line cxx or any of the other popular mono lines? #6 maxima breaks around 12lbs and so do the others. :D

Nothing wrong with the tried and trued knots. I like knowing that I have all of the lines strength behind me when fighting fish. ;) Especially ones like the 35 in hen Daniel get a few weeks ago. 6lb flouro that breaks right around 6lbs, he needed as strong of knot as possible. The rod can only give so much. :D

Has anyone up there used the San Diego cinch knot? Great for braid and mono up to 200 + tuna. I have used it on trout lines and works great, never have busted off at the knot.
