Does anyone know when the summer run for steelhead is on the mckenzie,and they recommened for bait.Would jigg and a bobber work. I live 5 min. away it would be nice to stay around here for awhile and not worry about traveling. any pointers would help thanks

I am wondering the same thing!! We are looking to fish it some this summer as well.

They will show as early as late april, and is usually best in June/July. Hopefully we have a turn around this year cause the last few have been relatively poor for numbers of fish. Just about anything will work on that river, just stick to what your confident in and you'll find water to suit you. Sand shrimp are a local favorite.
