-My lucky R&B Spinner-

Postby hollywood on Fri Jul 24, 2009 12:51 pm

I went out to the McKenzie a few days ago to fish my new R&B Spinners for some weary summer steelhead. I couldn't wait to try out the blue and silver since we have been hooking so many fish on that color and I was not disappointed. I went to the top of the hole and looked to see if I could spot some fish which I didn't then moved to the middle of the hole and didn't see any and finally the tail end and to my surprise I could not spot one steelhead. Normally you can spot six or so steelhead hanging out but this day they seemed to have moved up river.

I decided since I was there to fish so I cast up river along a rock shelf and started my slow retrieve back. When the spinner came out of the shadow and into the sun I saw a black object behind and right when I saw it I felt a bump, pulled up and FISH ON! I could not believe it, the fish must have followed it for five feet before committing. It was awesome to see only ten feet from me. Anyway, the story does not end they way I would have liked it to as the fish jumped way out of the water two times then as it was holding in the current turned its head down river and the spinner just popped out! What a great day with my blue and silver R&B spinner. Here is a picture of the #3 blue and silver I was using along with a nice green one.

You have to see these spinners and spoons in person to appreciate their craftsmanship. Very impressive, I cant wait to fish the larger sizes for fall Chinook and Coho this year. Good luck out there.

It would have been even better had I landed the fish!! Cant argue with the quality. If you look at his underground lair where all of the magic happens you would see what goes into each and every spinner and spoon made. He really is hands on and I feel it shows in the product.
