Anyone with experience keeping fish fresh in a cooler on a multi-day boat trip? Looking for a few tips!

WITHOUT ICE :?: I HAVE MADE TRIPS UP THE ROGUE FOR AN OVER NIGHTER. LOTS OF ICE AND MAKE SURE THE FISH STAY OUT OF THE MELTED WATER. WRAP YOUR CATCH IN A BAG THAT CAN BE SEALED. YOU CAN THAN LEAVE IT IN MELTED ICE WATER AND YOUR CATCH WILL BE FINE WHEN YOU PUT IT ON THE TABLE. HOPE THIS HELPS...........H

I went on an overnight trip on the Umpqua last summer, the temp was in the 90's during the day. We put 5lbs of dry ice in the cooler with 5lbs of regular ice on top. Our beer was still frosty at the end of the 2nd day. The ice melts a little and then the dry ice re-freezes it to the bottom of the cooler creating a huge sheet of ice in the bottom of the cooler. If you are using one of the large salmon size coolers I would probably go with 10 lbs of each. You will have no problem keeping stuff ice cold.
