you got to love the applegate, especially with its abundant fly casting water

Sweet fly! We will be fishing the Applegate very soon. Looks like there are a few fish around. :D

yeah there are some fish, they have been bright, but far between, so I think it is still before the full surge of the run, thanks for the props on the fly, I suck at taking pictures of them.

I am heading to Ashland for a conference the last week in April. Anywhere I go I bring my rods and I had already begun to look for somewhere to fish on my way down or back north and I had looked a little bit into the Applegate. Can anyone tell me what sections of river would be more likely to produce fish? I usually fish jigs and yarnballs but I'll fish anything that catches. Thanks. PS nice fat hen there flyfishingjunkee.

The applegate closes the end of March so your best bet might be the upper rogue that time of year.

Sorry Chad I goofed, meant the last week in March. Bet you were thinking I was pretty stupid, ha. I was talking with Mike today, sound like you guys will be up the weekend before that conference. I was likely going early to fish anyways, maybe we can meet up and try to slay some steelies.

We have not pinned down a date yet but are hoping to get back up the end of the month and maybe once before that too. I will let you know when I know!
