This was our first trip out for summer steelhead this year and it was a success. We went out and fished the Willamette River and McKenzie River today and had a great day on the water! Daniel hooked and landed two smaller salmon in the morning then we decided to fish for trout for a few hours and hooked over twenty trout. During the middle of the day we decided to search out some steelhead and were rewarded with two nice summer steelhead along with one other that I hooked and ended up losing. All in all it was a great day on some beautiful rivers, you can watch the Video Episode of the day below!

Great to hear from you again John! I never fished clear lake but when I lived in Chico I fished oroville lake for bass and the feather river for salmon and steelhead. Did you get into any monsters down there?

We had another great day on the same river yesterday but it was one of those days that none of the fish wanted to come home with us. I think we were cursed as we hooked six steelhead and two salmon but went home with a skunk. Two steelhead are swimming around with spinners in their mouths and one with roe on its lips! These summer steelhead are so hot and feisty its unreal. Anyway, if there are any summers in the rogue this year we will have to get down there for some fishing with you.
