I am a rookie here but I am not a rookie when it comes to fishing. I fished up in Alaska almost for 20 years and I did both, bank fishing as well as boat fishing. Years ago I started out just with a canoe and 3HP motor. I retired to Oregon and realized I miss fishing after I sold my flat bottom, jet unit boat upthere. Oh well!
I just wanted to tell Hollywood and Archer that you guys created an awsome site! I love coming here, it's informative and serious about fishing! You really must love fishing to devote all this time to it. I found a wealth of information here since I am new here and I am gathering info and tips to start with steelheading. I hope you people won't get tired of my questions..I do try to look up the information in existing forums. You helped me tremendously on how to choose a proper takcle for steelheading. In a way it's similar to what I did up in Alaska and in the it isn't. It's time to hush up and do some serious steelheading. I never caught one but had friends who did and always talked about NW steelies. I also got me a couple of books on the subject and it'll be a new, fun challenge for me.
Have you thought about starting a new thread about fish stories? I am sure we all got them, I know I do. I' would be glad to start one but since I am new here I don't want to make too many waves! (yet!)
Good luck to all! AK kid
