New SS family member

Postby archer on Sat Oct 23, 2010 9:45 pm

Look for this boat to be the demise of many fish in the coming months or years, or till someone wants to sponsor us :D Hint Hint(pavatti) Really, though, we are very excited and have been blessed with a very nice willy and plan to put it to good use.

Ok, so now we have a drift boat. What do you guys recommend for the bottom. I've heard of several different coatings that people put on. Which one is best, and can you do it yourself. There does appear to be some type of coating on the bottom, but it is pretty dry now as the boat hasn't been used in 3 years.

COAT IT. I have found it lasts longer than Gluvit on the bottom. Since its new to you guys... I highly recommend you do it before you go crashing down the river :D hehehehe Sand off all.. or well MOST of the old stuff, rough up the surface and pour it on.... Not really fun. Make sure its very dry and perferably over 70 degrees when you do it. The warmer the better. Congrats on the new toy for the arsenal!!!!!!! Just remember... when you own a boat you don't fish nearly as much :) you row or operate it :)

Uh oh Chad's whimping out already. Daniel will be doing all the rowing while Chad relaxes and reels in all the fish that hammer the diver and bait. No just kidding. But definatley put some of that gluvit on the bottom. She'll be just gliding down the river real nicely.

Thanks for that guys....Im laughing me arse off!!! :D :D :D Thats funny stuff right there!!
I love it when Jonny rows the boat, then I can flog the water with the jigs!!! I guess I am very lucky, when I fish with Jon we both fish all day in different spots along the bank etc. He usually lets me have at the water with my jig rods up front with me as we move between spots. Magic usually happens \M/ Fun stuff!! Love ya Jonny Boy ^:)^ ^:)^ ^:)^
I must say though, its a great feeling when you are rowing and the guys up front go bendo when you are side drifting them through a hole though!! Almost as good as holding the rod yourself!!
