FISH ON
Let's just say I'm addicted to fishing...more precise steelhead fishing. It all started for me in '96 when I got my first taste of steel. Man, what a rush that was. I was only 12 at the time. I would fish for a couple more years until my grandpa's health started to fail and so did my fishing. I became a freshmen in high school and starting chasing girls instead of fish:) Fast forward to 2007. My grandpa past away and my mom sent me some things that she thought I would like. One of which was a picture of me holding that first steelhead that he took. It brought back some good memories. Even one of him calling me a "baby" because I didn't want to stick my hand in the fishes gills. I decided to pick up the rod and reel again. Present day. I now have a wife and daughter so I chase after fish again. I try to get out every weekend and normally do. I'm glad for forums like this so people can share stories, info, and tips. Hope to see you on the river. Anything else???? Oh yeah...FISH ON!

Re: FISH ON
Thanks for the welcomes. I'm still trying to figure out this forum site. Looks like you guys are big on the bobber and jig here. I haven't had any luck with it yet, but I'll keep trying. I'm willing to learn any tricks you're willing to give me
I've got all my steelhead on the "drift" method. I did go to Oregon Rod and Reel and bought my first Vibra jig. I cant wait to try it when the river drops and gets a little more clear!!!

From Newbie to newbie........ wait.......... Fry to Newbie,
The only way I'm going to see the Umpqua, which, by the way, has water and drift boats in it in March
..sorry Greg, is a planned vacation. I'm from the right coast and they let me in!
I can relate as our histories are very much the same from 'used to fish', to taking a hiatus to returning to the passion. However, this is a new species of fish for me and the information has been readily available.
Great site, good guys, fun and accommodating!

Instead of just drifting the Umpqua... And I drifted the north. Hit up ToyBox, he can take you down the Rogue. And if you come during the winter... January or Feb... Chetco is good. Could go to Portland and drift the Sandy with Ed Fast, the wilson river with David Johnson... All great guides... For chetco... Don't know many guides... Im betting Toybox would do it. Val and Gary Early are good guides too for the chetco.

Re: FISH ON
Thanks Greg!
I know this is Kenzies gig here with his intro, but your offering is appreciated. I will keep the guides for consideration as long as I can negotiate the trip next winter. I would love to hook up with the tighter group of guys (stalker network) if that would be something that could be coordinated. However, input helpful!
