-How to tie the Fish-N-Fool Knot-

Postby hollywood on Fri Jun 26, 2009 11:00 pm

This knot won knot wars this year and was crowned the undisputed, strongest knot in the world!! :D :D Seriously though it is the strongest knot and we use it on everything we fish, it is extremely effective when using very light line for steelhead as well. You can check it out below.

Once you get the hang of it the knot if very easy to tie and can be done quickly in the cold!

Great looking knot. I will give it a try. Has anyone done the knot strength test on it to see where the line will break? None the less it looks good. Thanks for sharing :D >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>H

I found this on the knot wars website. These are the lines that were used for all tests.

14-pound Trilene XT Tough Red (Mono)

15-pound Trilene 100% Fluorocarbon (Fluoro)

15-pound Trilene Tracer Braid (Braid)

The Fish-N-Fool knot when tested with the (14-pound Trilene XT Tough Red) was rated at 20.54-pound average on their knot testing machine!

The Fish-N-Fool knot when tested with the (15-pound Trilene 100% Fluorocarbon) was rated at 15.5-pound average!

The Fish-N-Fool knot when tested with the (15-pound Trilene Tracer Braid) was rated at 19.44-pound average!

So the Fish-N-Fool knot was rated at higher than the rated line on every test. Now that will vary with different line but it will still be stronger than its rated pound test not matter what. Lets just say that when you try to bite your line off or cut it with scissors it is very difficult to do with either. Go try it out guys.

Hmmmm, it works on Trilene. I wonder how it works on good line (P-line) ;)

And is it simple enough for someone like me w/ a double handicap (1... blond, 2... guy)? I had to number them in case there were any other blonds on here. :?

OK, I'll try it. But if I wind up like Charlie Brown and his kite, there's always a knife in my right back pocket. Someone please cut me loose. :D

Tried it out w Maxima 8#, was a little hard sinching down, looked to burn the line, maybe the spit job was at fault. Had 1of 5 pull down nice, will practice before river try. Thanks for a new knot!
